Farsophone Association in Britain

Farsophone offers the following services to the community

 Persian Library – book lending

Farsophone library, which is conveniently located in the same building as the Golders Green Library, contains a large collection of books in Persian (Farsi). Persian speakers use it both as a learning resource and for general interest. Most books are available for lending. The library is open to visitors from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm every day except Sunday and Monday.

Welfare and Legal matters including assistance with official correspondence

At Farsophone we will help you in obtaining the relevant Welfare and legal advice (e.g. regarding immigration, asylum, housing, benefits). We will also try to help you with your official correspondence if necessary.

Counselling on Education particularly on achieving proficiency in English or Persian

We will help you develop your own plan of Education which is most suited to your abilities and ambitions. In particular we will assist you with your study plan to improve your English more quickly and to achieve your full potential. We have a similar project for those who wish to improve their Persian as a second language (e.g. those married to a Persian speaker or anyone else interested). For the language club's meetings to help with your English and/or Persian call the main telephone number. In these sessions apart from checking the student’s progress, answering questions and discussing methods of improving language skills – groups of students engage in discussions to help one another in conversation and reading (generally speaking one group is very good in English and the other in Persian).

Integrative counselling and psychotherapy service

The Farsophone Counselling Service is Piloted by Barnet PCT and is based at Edgware Community Hospital. It is designed to offer an integrative counselling and psychotherapy service for FARSI (PERSIAN) SPEAKING individuals.

Farsi (Persian) speaking qualified practitioners and advanced trainees will provide Counselling and Psychotherapy within BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and will be supervised by experienced qualified supervisors.
